Founder's Story
In 2005, my father was nearing the end of his fight with cancer, and I knew I needed to learn more about him. I had so many questions. Even though I lived in the same house with him my entire life, he never really opened up to anyone.
My dad loved to sing, he had an infectious laugh, and I wondered how it would feel if I could no longer hear his voice. I thought about my daughter, who was six years old at the time, and my oldest nephew, who was just two. What would they remember? How could they remember?
I used my camcorder to record my dad and his parting words of advice. Then, I asked him what he wanted us to remember, and I saved his responses.
Many years later, after a challenging day in the office, I longed to hear my dad’s voice. So I searched for my camcorder to see those old recordings. When I told my mom and siblings I’d done this, they realized I’d saved these special moments and had not shared them. They wanted to experience them too.
I knew I needed an easier way to share these memories with my family. There was so much more we could learn from our loved ones. I thought about the stories my grandmother would share with me and how I would always lay in bed with her and listen to her stories about her mother. I thought about how much more powerful the story would be if my great-grandmother had told it in her own words and voice; how connected I would have felt to her.
When I looked at my options, it was clear that nothing on the market covered all my needs. The other apps are commercialized and are challenging to share with multiple people. So I embarked on creating an app that allows you to share and keep the memories that matter most. I designed the 4KeapS! app to focus on your memories in your voice for you to save in a private vault available only to the people you share them with. FAQs
After downloading the app and signing up, you can log in to your memory-sharing platform, which we call your vault. Here, you can create photos, videos, or audio posts to show immediately or at a specified time. You can also choose who will see your posts. Keep them private just for you, or share them with your specific friends. To share with your friends and family, they must download the 4KeapS! app.
After signing up on the 4KeapS! platform, you’ll have 30 days to try the app features for free. After the trial period, you can opt to become a member, which includes 5 GB of space and full access to the app. Membership is $.99 per month.
You can buy additional storage in 100 GB increments if you need more space. It’s $2.99 monthly for the first 100 GB and $2.49 for every additional 100 GB.
You can access all payment information with a secure login to the web portal.
If you decide to cancel, you’ll get a URL to download your data from the app. The link is valid for 30 days. After that, the content is removed.
A vault is your personal memory-sharing platform. You can create photo, video, or audio posts to share immediately or whenever you specify. You can also choose who will see your posts. Keep them private just for you, or share them with your network of friends who also have the 4KeapS! app.
Your vault will hold audio, video, and photo memories with descriptions. You can also create timed announcements to be shared when you choose. For example, buying 100 GB of storage equals more than 30,000 photos, around 50 hours of average quality video files, or 60 minutes of 2-track 24-bit 48 kHz BWAV audio.
